We have been established in 1999 as five member (the reason of our name Pětník, meaning five-cent coin in Czech) acapela group. We sing songs of jazz, swing, pop, folk and other genres, mostly in Czech, in our own arrangements. The most of our repertoire are songs of other groups and singers, but we have own songs or Czech texts as well.
The difference of other acapela groups consists in originality of our arrangement. That's why we can build our repertoire after our interests, not after the availability of scores. Our view is that the spectators, above all, like to have fun and to laugh. Only few of them come to the concert to listen to complicated harmony.
Together with live concerts, one can hear us from our records. Beyond some demos, in 2004 we finished and by Good Day Records published the full CD V botach snu, in 2010 we plan the second regular CD.
In 2001 we won spectators award at the biggest Czech Folk Festival Zahrada. In 2010 we won spectators and jury awards at the respectable Porta Festival. Before it, we took four times part in the final stage of this festival.
This web was created and is managed by Honza Hucin.
Now we live mostly at Bandzone.
